This body of work utilises traditional glass engraving techniques to describe biological patterns and forms. These solid blown pieces explore the optical qualities of glass, with its ability to bend light and to stretch, magnify or reflect an abstracted image.
Convex lenses are used to create a strong sense of movement as the viewer interacts with the work, and reflections appear and disappear like a mirage. Multiple air bubbles create a complex matrix of internal reflections within each piece. The work is designed to entice a sense of wonder and discovery.
